Amy Sullivan

Hello!  My name is Amy Sullivan.  I am excited to be at Smithfield Middle School, go Knights!  I am originally from Chantilly Virginia, where I grew up and met my husband of 31 years.  We moved to Charles Town, West Virginia and enjoyed the wonderful mountains and rivers for over 11 years.  I have 8 children (2 girls and 6 boys), 3 of whom are still living at home.  I also have 4 grandchildren with another on the way!  Before moving to North Carolina, I homeschooled all of my children and graduated 4 out.  Once moving we realized the many wonderful schools that were available to our children and they began their public school life.  This meant I had an abundance of time and was able to complete my Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education.  I have had the opportunity to work in k-5 EC setting and Highschool Inclusion.  I enjoy bringing learning to life in meaningful ways to my students.  I look forward to getting to know each one of you.

  • I will be hosting Google meets from 2:00-3:00 Monday thru Friday to provide any help that students may need (invitations will be sent daily through email).  I can be reached through email or phone Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 3:30 pm.

    Stay safe and well!

  • Hello!  I miss seeing my students every day but look forward to continuing to learn together in this new way.  Know that I am learning as much as my students right now!  I will be available and working all day long, so please email me or contact me through google classroom with any questions you may have.  I would encourage everyone to enjoy your time with loved ones, as you are able and READ, READ, READ!  I will be posting recommended books and look forward to hearing about what you are reading!

Please let me or the administrative staff know if you have any urgent needs at this time.
