Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Suzanne Sweat
Welcome to JoCo Teach! I am so excited that you have chosen to pursue a career in education. Please click on the JoCo Teach page to learn more about our amazing program!
My name is Suzanne Sweat, and I have been a teacher for 19 years now! I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism, received my teaching certification through ECU, and earned my MEd from Campbell University. I believe the classroom should be a living laboratory, so when you enter our room, you might see students sitting on a carpet and reading children's books if we're learning about teaching elementary school, or bouncing on a ball chair and playing Jeopardy if we're learning about teaching middle school, or maybe working in small groups and writing out ideas on their white-erase desks if we're learning about teaching high school! I want students to be immersed in the teaching process.
In addition to teaching, I love to take walks, read books, and watch movies. I also love watching my children participate in thier sports. My daughter, Lily, is a Junior in high school and an avid volleyball player. My son, Levi, is a Freshmen at Western Carolina University and loves playing soccer. My husband is also in education! He is a counselor at Cleveland High School.
I love being a SSS Spartan, and I look forward to working with you this year.

All offices will be closed on July 4.
Johnston County Public Schools is always striving to provide students and families with exemplary service. In most cases, school bus transportation is essential for many students to access a quality education. In order to meet our daily goal, it is necessary to implement change that enhances and improves our overall operation. As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, JCPS Transportation Services and School Nutrition will be hosting a Summer Information Fair at each high school.
Our district is launching a new portion of our website to further communicate bus delays and replacements with our families. We encourage those who have a student who utilizes our transportation to get to or from school to visit www.johnston.k12.nc.us/busdelays for updates on our school bus routes beginning Tuesday, January 18.
The Johnston County Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the 2022 Johnston County Public Schools salary schedule at their regularly scheduled Dec. 14 meeting.
