Mrs. Suzanne Sweat
Welcome to JoCo Teach! I am so excited that you have chosen to pursue a career in education. Please click on the JoCo Teach page to learn more about our amazing program!
My name is Suzanne Sweat, and I have been a teacher for 19 years now! I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism, received my teaching certification through ECU, and earned my MEd from Campbell University. I believe the classroom should be a living laboratory, so when you enter our room, you might see students sitting on a carpet and reading children's books if we're learning about teaching elementary school, or bouncing on a ball chair and playing Jeopardy if we're learning about teaching middle school, or maybe working in small groups and writing out ideas on their white-erase desks if we're learning about teaching high school! I want students to be immersed in the teaching process.
In addition to teaching, I love to take walks, read books, and watch movies. I also love watching my children participate in thier sports. My daughter, Lily, is a Junior in high school and an avid volleyball player. My son, Levi, is a Freshmen at Western Carolina University and loves playing soccer. My husband is also in education! He is a counselor at Cleveland High School.
I love being a SSS Spartan, and I look forward to working with you this year.
