Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Brandon Nishnick
I am excited to start my 1st year at Polenta Elementary as your child's fifth grade teacher! I will be teaching all fifth-grade subjects. Like your child, I am going to school and will be earning a Master’s of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. My parents were both teachers, so I am no stranger to public education inside and outside of the classroom. My mother taught elementary school, while my father taught middle school. I am married and have two girls who are in elementary school as well.
At this time, all traditional high school graduations are still planned for May 29. Graduation ceremonies for Johnston County Early College Academy and Johnston County Career and Technical Leadership Academy will now take place on May 16th, rather than the original date of May 15th.
The Johnston County Board of Education will hold a budget work session on Tuesday, April 27. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. and be held in the Evander Simpson Building in Smithfield.
