Mr. Brandon Nishnick
I am excited to start my 2nd year at Polenta Elementary as your student's 5th grade teacher! Last year, I was honored to receive the Outstanding Beginning Teacher of the Year Award at Polenta Elementary. Previously I spent 13 years in accounting, and I decided to make a career switch in order to make an impact on my students. My parents were both teachers, so I am no stranger to public education inside and outside of the classroom. My mother taught elementary school, while my father taught middle school. I am married and have two girls who are in elementary school as well. I look forward in working with you and your student!

Now more than ever, we are aware of the many different needs of our students and families. As we begin planning for the 2021-22 school year, we are seeking feedback from parents to gauge interest in establishing a Johnston County Public Schools Virtual Academy, as an alternative to the face-to-face instruction environment for students. We are asking for your input by completing an online interest survey.
Johnston County Public Schools has developed a detailed plan to mark senior milestones, including prom and graduation, while adhering to guidance from the Johnston County Public Health Department and the CDC in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
