Mrs. Kim Breitenbach

I am Mrs. Breitenbach, and I am SO excited to be a part of Polenta Elementary School's third grade team! Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2018, my family and I spent 30 years making our home in Tampa, FL. I am originally from East Tennessee, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Marketing at East Tennessee State University. In my first job in Tampa, I worked for GTE Data Services in their computer rooms and in their National Support Center. After having children, I went to work for Hilton Hotels Corporation and worked in sales for about 8 years. I then transitioned into the school system in Tampa, where I have worked as a secretary, an attendance clerk, and finally, a teacher of gifted children in grades K - 5. I taught for 8 years in Tampa before moving to North Carolina. My husband and I have 3 children who are in college now, and we have 2 dogs and one cat who complete our family! My hobbies include going to the beach, spending time in the mountains, riding my bike, walking, baking and trying new recipes, and reading. My newest hobby is enjoying my grandson, who just turned 2 this summer! I enjoy seeing children learn and experience those "lightbulb" moments that make great learning memories! I am excited to get to know your children as we learn and experience 3rd grade together!
