Degrees and Certifications:
BA from ECU
Hello, My name is April Wood and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I am so excited that I get the opportunity to grow with your family!! I have a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University (GO PIRATES) and have worked with preschool aged students for more than ten years now. I have worked in both the private and public sector and feel that I was born to be a teacher. I was born and raised in Johnston County. I also attended Cooper Elementary when I was younger.
Outside of school, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. My husband Kevin is a career fireman. Together, we have two daughters, Georgia who is 7 and Audrey who is 4. We are very active as a family and love the outdoors!! A few of my favorite things are the Atlanta Braves, going to Kerr Lake and artifact hunting.
As you can imagine, our day will be packed with fun so calls to the classroom will only be put through for emergency purposes. There are several ways you can contact me, the first is through email at email@example.com. Another communication option is using your child’s daily folder. There will be a section for you to read about activities they enjoyed during the day and also a place for you to send us notes. Daily folders are checked and updated each day. The easiest way to communicate with me will be our Class Dojo app. It allows me to access it quickly and provide a prompt response.
I cannot wait to get to know your child and help them develop a true love of learning!
