BS Elementary Education (K-6) M. Ed. School Counseling (K-12) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A)
Mrs. Sarah Buddin
I will be on maternity leave until November. I served four years as a school counselor at a Title 1 magnet school in another school district; and this is my fourth year as the Mental Health Interventionist at Cooper Academy. Currently, I am working towards full licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) and as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
My counseling beliefs are founded on a Strengths-Based framework. In order to best serve our students and our community, the Social Emotional Learning team (which includes the school counselor, mental health interventionist, and behavior specialist) will work collaboratively to address the needs of all of our students; including strategies such as behavior intervention, small group instruction, individual counseling, and connections to community resources. As an SEL team, our united goal is to build relationships with student and identify how their strengths can help them overcome adversity and build resiliency.
During my free time, I love to spend time with my husband and our four year old son Sawyer, visit with friends and family, read books, ride horses, listen to music, and cheer on the Wolfpack. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with all of the amazing students, staff, and community! I cannot wait to see how your children grow this school year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
