Mrs. Maggie Murphy

My name is Maggie Murphy, and this is my 10th year teaching.  I live in Bailey, North Carolina with my husband, stepson, and dog.  This is my first year at Corinth-Holders, and I am very excited to join the pirate family.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family or friends.  My favorite part of being a teacher is seeing the students light up when they feel successful.  I believe that learning is one of life's greatest joys.  I am so blessed to have the priviledge to teach young minds and see them filled with joy as they learn each day.

  • Kindergarten Goals

Kindergarten is the foundation for education.  Mastering the above goals will set a student up for success in reading, writing, and math.  In my class, students will become readers, writers, and mathematicians.  In addition, they will be given opportunities to develop social and emotional skills to learn to communicate well with others, recover from set backs, collaborate appropriately, take risks in learning, and develop skills for healthy living.  Children learn best when they are presented with choice and owership in their success.  They are happiest in an environment that encourages positive behavior and consistent expectations.  Children learn from those who make them feel safe and loved.  I intend to establish a respectful environment where all students florish.  I look forward to an awesome 2019-2020 school year!
