Mrs. Bridges

Hey! My name is Denise Bridges and I am SOOO excited to be the Science/STEM teacher this year at ECES! I'll be working as an enhancement teacher with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. For those of you who aren't familiar with STEM it stand for Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics. My hope for this year to help reinforce the science standards that they are being taught in their classrooms, while also doing a lot of hands on activities.

A little bit about me...I graduated from Campbell University with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught for 5 years before having my children and then took on a new job, as a stay a home mom. I loved staying at home for so many years but I am super excited to be back in the classroom! I have an amazing husband and 2 wonderful children who have both been at East Clayton since they started Kindergarten. My daughter, Caroline, is now in 6th grade and my son, Jackson, is in 3rd grade. They have both had amazing teachers while at ECES and I'm proud to now be apart of the ECES family. Last February I took over as East Clayton's PTA President. It has been a lot of work but I'm glad I get to help support our school in that way. We really do have the best kids, staff, and parents at our school!

Since we will be doing hands-on activities I will need help with supplies for certain projects. I work with about 300 students so I'd appreciate any donations :) These are a few items I'll need for upcoming activities:

candy pumpkins

cupcake liners

marshmellows

vinegar

***Also be sure to check for photos that I'll upload of the different activities we do!
