I will be starting my 6th year in a Reading/Curriculum Support role at CHES at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. Prior to CHES, I taught second grade for 15 years at West Clayton Elementary. I honestly feel so fortunate to have the oportunity to fulfill my passion as a teacher. I cannot imagine doing anything else!
I was born and raised on the coast of Norh Carolina in the New Bern/Pamlico County area. I graduated from The Universtiy of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BA in Elementary Education- Go Hawks! I furthered my education by obtaining my MAED in Reading Education from East Carolina University-aargh! I also earned my National Board Certificate in the area of Early Childhood Genearalist. I have been married to my college sweetheart, Anthony for 19 years and we have 2 sons, Josh Allen, 15 and Jake, 10. We also have a sweet, yellow lab named Salt Glory who is 3 years old. We spend as much time as possible at our beach place in Emerald Isle. Both our boys play travel soccer and keep us pretty busy! We are die hard Carolina Fans- Go HEELS!
