Mrs. Hayward

I am beginning my 16th year of teaching and my 3rd year, here, at Riverwood Elementary.  I love what I do and desire to help students grow and learn as a whole child.  I feel that each child is a gift and has special talents and abilities that make them unique and special.  In our classroom there is a culture of acceptance and respect for everyone.  We work together as a team to help each other reach our individual goals and to encourage each other to achieve our highest potential.  I cannot wait to meet my 21-22 students and look forward to learning about you and your families.

A little bit about myself:  I moved to Clayton with my family 2 years ago, from Mebane, NC, where I worked at South Mebane Elementary.  I have a son in 8th grade at RMS and a 4th and a 5th grader at RES.  We are a family that spends a lot of time on the soccer field and we love quality time with neighbors and church families.  I love to spend time outdoors and enjoy running (when I have time.)
