Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Bullock

I am a 5th grade Language Arts teacher at Corinth Holders Elementary School. I was born and raised in Johnston County! I attended Selma Elementary, Selma Middle, and SSS, graduating in 2000. I am a 2004 gradutate from UNC Pembroke, with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in English Literature. I have taught at Corinth Holders Elementary for 14 years, 5 years teaching 3rd grade and 9 years teaching 5th grade.

I have two great kids; Sydney who is 8 and starting 3rd grade at CHES this year and Benjamin who will be turning 2 this October. I have 2 pets; a fat cat named Pickles and a black lab named Chloe. I love everything Disney; so much I became a part time travel consultant for Disney when I am not teaching.

Teaching and inspiring students to have a love for reading is still and will always be a passion for me as an educator!

I am looking forward to teaching your child this year!

  • Our Focus for October:

This month, we will be focusing on Plot and Theme. We will be continuing to read Traditional Literature with the reading of Native American Legends. During read alouds and flex groups we will be examining and discussing plot and theme within fictional texts. Students will also be taking part in group projects and workshop assignments to practice these comprehension skills.

    Happy Fall Yall

Please make sure that students are reading a minumum of 20 minutes each night (book of choice). It is proven, through research, that daily independent reading time has a major impact on a student's reading success and growth. We do read each day independently in class, but this is not enough. We do not give much homework, but only ask that students read for homework each night. We feel that it is very importatant in acheiving their goals and their reading proficiency.
