Miss Bethany Helms

Welcome to your 2020-2021 mathematics extravaganza! I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Math Education in 2018. I am in graduate school to pursue my master degree in math education with a concentration in post-secondary mathematics at NCSU. I am a proud Johnston County alumni of Cleveland Elementary, Cleveland Middle, and Cleveland High. I was given the opportunity to come back to Johnston County to complete my student teaching at Swift Creek Middle School.  Growing up in this school system and taught by so many dedicated teachers, I always knew I wanted to come back here to teach. I am a very family oriented person which is evident in my classroom community I strive to create. I have been teaching at Riverwood Middle for a year and a half.  I was formerly a proud 7th grade teacher. I am blessed to be given the opportunity to follow my students up to 8th grade this year. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, cheering on the wolfpack, traveling, and spending time with my family. I look forward to beginning a new school year with the class of 2025 in these unpredicted times!
