Dear Students, Parents, and Stakeholders,
I hope you are doing well and are healthy. This letter is to provide some information about your students American History 2 class. At this time we all have many questions that are unanswered, please know that we are doing our best to communicate with you the most up to date and correct information. For many of us the potential transition to online learning will be a totally new experience. I am confident that we can navigate this challenging time.
At this point JCPS and DPI have directed teachers (with the exception of AP and CCP courses) that all instruction will be supplemental. The activities that will be posted in google classroom beginning, Monday, March 30th are for remediation and enrichment purposes. All activities posted at this time are optional. The purpose of these activities is to allow for daily meaningful learning to continue while we wait on the okay to commence learning in whatever form our state and county leadership deem appropriate.
In an effort to have continued communication as we move through this period I would like to encourage students, parents, and stakeholders, to “follow” me using these tools…

When given the okay by JCPS and if necessary, I plan to use google classroom as the platform for delivering instruction and to assign work. In addition to google classroom it is my intention to hold live lectures using Zoom, a web conferencing app. Students can use Zoom to participate in our live online classroom to participate in lectures. These lectures will also be recorded so students can go back and review. I will likely have a practice run with Zoom next week. Students can access Zoom using a chromebook, lap top, desk top, or a mobile device. If using a mobile device please download the Zoom app. I will post a link for the meeting space in google classroom so students can access the virtual classroom.
Please continue to follow CHHS and JCPS on social media accounts for the most up to date information. Also please be on the lookout for future messages from Mr. Johnson. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me. Have a nice day!
