Hello! I am one of the ELL specialists here at Selma Elementary. I have worked at Selma for 14 years. I have been a teacher in Johnston County for over 25 years. It is my privilege to work with our English Language Learners in the four basic domains of Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and shopping. I am originally from new York but moved here with my husband in 1994. I have one daughter who is in college! My husband is also a teacher in Johnston County.
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I hope that previous students can find the time to stop by...we love to see how you have grown!
My schedule changes daily. Many of my students are in the Dual Language Program here at Selma and so I work with them on the days/times they are receiving their instruction in English. I work with all of the grade levels here at Selma from K-4th. Most of the time I pull out my students into a small group setting where they can receive maximum attention and instruction from a teacher.
I co-lead working with the 4th grade Student Leadership group four times a month. We work on fostering leadership skills in our school , at home, and within the community.
I am a member of the SIT team here at school, PTCO regular attendee, as well as a mentor.
Please feel free to contact me in any way that you feel I could assist you-this includes parents, teachers, and other community members!
Let's have an awesome year together!

Here Comes the Bus is a school bus tracking app that gives parents real-time bus location information and alerts to get students to the bus stop on time. The app is expected to roll out by the first day of school, August 26...
