Mrs. Amy Turnbaugh
Selma Middle School is the recipient of an Innovation Partnership Grant (IPG) for the 2021-2024 school years. My education includes a Bachelor's degree from Barton College, a Master's degree from East Carolina University, and a Principal's license from UNC-Wilmington. I have served as a classroom teacher for grade 2-7, a state consultant, assistant principal, and instructional coach. As the IPG Coach, I will be working to ensure the intention of the grant application is fulfilled.
North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.
