Cristal Atkinson

Welcome!

My name is Cristal Atkinson. I am a native of the Benson community. I am so excited to teach kindergarten again this year!  I have worked in Johnston County Public schools for 12 years as of this year. I have served as a substitute teacher, teacher assistant, and a bus driver.

I am married to my high school sweetheart who is the love of my life. We have four wonderful children and one grandson. We have an amazing daughter and our three sons I am proud to say serve our country by way of being in the military. I am very family oriented and love spending time with my family. I am a member of a nonprofit organization called Granny’s Angels of which our motto is “A Family Affair Called to Care Helping Others Help Themselves.”

Education is especially important, and I am so proud to be a part of helping children learn new and exciting things. I love coming up with creative and fun ways to teach.  I am excited about working with parents, students, guardians, grandparents, and other staff members to make this a successful academic school year here at BES for our students.

I enjoy spending time at the beach with my family. I love scented candles and reading a good inspirational novel.

Welcome to Kindergarten we are going to have an exciting and successful school year!

  • Updated COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance

There have been significant changes to the Strong Schools NC toolkit that affects the quarantine procedures our staff and students must follow if they are exposed to a positive case of COVID-19. Any student or staff member who is currently quarantined due to an exposure of a positive COVID-19 case may return to school or work tomorrow, unless the close contact is a housemate. We are able to make this adjustment because our district requires masks for all students, staff, and guests.
