My name is Brittany Clements and this is my 5th year teaching. I have been with Johnston County Public Schools for 10 years! I was an instructional assistant for 5 years before teaching 2nd grade. This is my 4th year here at NJMS! Once a Jag always a Jag! I graduated from Barton College in Wilson with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
I live in Micro with my daughters, Salem and Shelby! I have lived in Johnston County my entire life and love calling it home. Fun Fact! I attended North Johnston Middle School before graduating from North Johnston High School!

- We Will Explore Through Unit 2: Animal Allies in the Myperspectives Textbook the Essential Question: How Can People and Animals Relate to Each Other?
- We Will Examine Multi-media Presentations, Short Stories, Non-fiction Narratives, and Various Language Development Skills, Such As Conventions and Word Studies, As Well As Writing Techniques.
- We Will Integrate Strategies and Skills to Deepen Our Thinking and Comprehension in Reading, Speaking and Listening.

Eighth Grade Dance Parent Meeting on Tuesday, February 7, 2023
A parent meeting will be held for all parents or guardians who are interested in assisting with the dance on Tuesday, February 7th in the NJMS Media Center at 6:00 pm. The 8th Grade Dance will be held on Friday, March 17th from 6:00-9:00 PM in the cafetorium.

You can order online or purchase in person through Mrs. Brown. School Order Number: 404 Link To Order: https://www.yearbookordercenter.com/ Cost: $20 Each + $4 to have your name etched on the front cover. All orders must be placed by April 22nd. Yearbooks will be distributed during the last week of school.

ACCESS testing for English Language Learners
North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.

Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
