BA Mathematics

Mrs. Monica Neal

Hello I hope you had a great summer and are ready for an awesome school year!!

Here is a little info about me:

I grew up in JoCo so I attended Johnston County Schools as did my husband and our children.  I graduated from Smithfield-Selma High School (SSS).  After graduation, I attended Meredith College (Meredith Girls Best in the World) in Raleigh, NC where I earned a BA in Mathematics.

I taught at West Johnston from 2011 - 2014.  During my first stint here I taught Algebra 1, Geometry and Math 1 and most recently I taught Math 3, AFM and Discrete Math.  Last year I taught Math 1 as a Wildcat and I am back again this year so I am hyped about being back as a WILDCAT TEACHER!!

  • Hello and welcome back to the 2021-22 (AKA Best School Year Ever) school year.  I hope you're excited about all that this year has in store for us!  I look forward to working with you to learn the foundational principles of algebra in the Math 1 class.  Let's get ready to learn!!

I suggest the following Supply List for our Math 1 class:

    • Binder (any size) with loose leaf paper
    • 1 folder OR 1 sheet protector
    • Expo OR Dry Erase Marker(s) - student will need their own that only they touch
    • Pencils
    • 2 Highlighters (any color)
    • 1 pack of sticky notes (any color)
    • graph paper (optional)
    • TI-84 graphing calculator (suggested but optional) or access Desmos (graphing calculator app or website)

Johnston County Public Schools is always striving to provide students and families with exemplary service. In most cases, school bus transportation is essential for many students to access a quality education. In order to meet our daily goal, it is necessary to implement change that enhances and improves our overall operation.
