BA in Studio Art BA in Secondary Education
Mrs. Marissa Oprandy
Hi,
My name is Marissa Oprandy, I am the Art Teacher at MXMS. In 2016 I earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Art Studio and Secondary Education from William Paterson University.
I am originally from New Jersey and have been living in North Carolina for 6 years and I love it! I have been married to my husband Steve for 6 years and we have 2 dogs: Lily (Sheltie) and Bob Barker (Corgi) as well as 3 cats: Luna, Stella, and Archer! Some of my favorite things include Mellow Mushroom Pizza, Starbucks, chocolate, cooking/baking, and Netflix.
As an artist I have worked with many mediums including acrylic paint, oil paint, pencil, charcoal, and watercolors. My favorite medium is charcoal because you create a lot of contrast but it's challenging to keep your paper clean. I have a realistic approach to creating art and my favorite artist is Chuck Close.
