Mr. Ron Cornelous

Welcome to the MXMS Band - 2020-2021 school year! I hope you all have had a fantastic summer, even in the midst of a pandemic!

I would like to introduce myself to those who may not know me. I am Mr. Cornelous, the band director here at MXMS. Most students call me Mr. C for short. This is my third year as band director at McGee's Crossroads Middle School. Previously, I taught chorus for 5 years before transitioning to this role as band director. I absolutely enjoy what I do, and I love working with the amazing students of MXMS!

In 1995, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual and Performing Arts from Shaw University. In 2011, I decided to further my education, and decided to enrol in East Carolina University. I graduated in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Teaching Music Education. I've been married for 14 years, and I enjoy family and friends, movies, music, the beach, and exercising.

Although this school year will look different from past years, we will work together to make sure learning takes place as effectively as possible! This website will be updated in the near future for pertinent information such as schedules, online learning, and communication tools.

I'm excited to meet you all - virtually, of course! Until then, please feel free to email me at RonaldCornelous@johnston.k12.nc.us with any questions you may have.

Have a great day!

Mr. Cornelous
Band Director
