Mr. Ron Cornelous

Hello! I would like to introduce myself to all stakeholders of McGee’s Crossroads Middle School!

I am Mr. Ron Cornelous. In 1995, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Shaw University, Raleigh, NC,  where my principal instrument was trumpet. In addition to trumpet, I am a pianist, and can many other instruments as well.

I was accepted into the Graduate Program of East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, in 2011, and graduated in May 2013, earning the Master of Arts in Teaching degree for Music Education. I am in my sixth year of teaching in Johnston County Public Schools. I taught chorus my first five years working in the county, but am now teaching band here at McGee’s Crossroads Middle School.

One thing that my students have already learned about me is I love to wear colorful socks! Many of my students ask about my sock choice every day!

I am a huge sports fan, and football is my favorite of them all!

I am excited about being here at McGees, the students are amazing, and I certainly appreciate all of the support I have been given so far!
