Mrs. Brittany Weaver
I am so excited to explore Biology with you this semester! Throughout the semester students will be introduced to a variety of topics including biochemistry, cell structure, genetics, and ecology. We will also be doing laboratory activities during the course. Successful completion of Biology is a North Carolina graduation requirement. Students will take the North Carolina End-of-Course Exam. The exam will account for 20% of the student’s overall grade in the course.
A little about myself:
I am originally from Johnston County and graduated from South Johnston High School in 2007. This school year will be my 12th year teaching high school science and 10th at Corinth Holders High School. I completed my undergraduate degree at NC State Univeristy in Secondary Science Education in 2011 and completed my Masters from NC State in Science Education with a focus in Biology in 2019. This year I am serving as the testing/section 504 coordinator as well as teaching some biology. I am married to Adam Weaver (who also works here) and we have 2 boys. My husband and I live in Rocky Mount and enjoy getting to be PIRATES together here at Corinth.
I will be using Canvas for our class website. If you need to know how to access Canvas, please watch the screencast I have uploaded on the Canvas Access Page. If you as a parent would like to be added to our Canvas page as an observer, you can use THIS DOCUMENT to add yourself. If you cannot get that process to work, please email me and let me know so I can add you manually. Canvas will be updated often so be sure to look there frequently!

We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
