Mrs. Brittany Weaver
I am so excited to explore Biology with you this semester! Throughout the semester students will be introduced to a variety of topics including biochemistry, cell structure, genetics, and ecology. We will also be doing laboratory activities during the course. Successful completion of Biology is a North Carolina graduation requirement. Students will take the North Carolina End-of-Course Exam. The exam will account for 20% of the student’s overall grade in the course.
A little about myself:
I am originally from Johnston County and graduated from South Johnston High School in 2007. This school year will be my 9th year teaching high school science and 7th at Corinth Holders High School. I completed my undergraduate degree at NC State Univeristy in Secondary Science Education in 2011 and completed my Masters from NC State in Science Education with a focus in Biology in 2019. This year I am serving as the science department chair as well as coaching JV cheerleading. I am married to Adam Weaver (who also works here) and we have a little boy named Warren Daniel. My husband and I live in Rocky Mount and enjoy getting to be pirates together here at Corinth.
I will be using Google Classroom for our class website. Please check with your student to get the access code and stay up to date with what we are doing in class. If you as a parent would like to be added to our Google Classroom page, please email me and let me know so I can add you as well. Google Classroom will be updated daily so be sure to look there often!
