WELCOME to Biology!!
I am so excited to explore Biology with you this semester! Throughout the semester students will be introduced to a variety of topics including biochemistry, cell structure, genetics, and ecology. We will also be doing laboratory activities during the course. Successful completion of Biology is a North Carolina graduation requirement. Students will take the North Carolina End-of-Course Exam. The exam will account for 20% of the student’s overall grade in the course.
A little about myself...
I am originally from Johnston County and graduated from South Johnston High School. This school year will be my 8th year teaching high school science and 6th at Corinth Holders High School. I completed my undergraduate degree at NC State Univeristy in Secondary Science Education and I am currently working on my Masters from NC State in Science Education with a focus in Biology. I am married to Adam Weaver (who also works here) and we have a little boy named Warren Daniel. My husband and I live in Rocky Mount and enjoy getting to be pirates together here at Corinth.
I will be using Google Classroom for our class website. Please check with your student to get the access code and stay up to date with what we are doing in class. If you as a parent would like to be added to our Google Classroom page let me know and I can add you as well. Google Classroom will be updated daily so be sure to look there often!
