Mrs. Sandy Tyndall
Hi! I would like to welcome you to Corinth Holders High School and the Career and Technology Education Health Sciences courses. My name is Sandy Tyndall and I am one of the Health Sciences teachers. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Education. I am a Certified Health Education Specialist and Certified Pharmacy Technician. I have had the opportunity to serve as a Public Health Educator in local and state governmental agencies and non-profit agencies. I enjoy helping students investigate healthcare careers.
I serve as one of the HOSA advisors. HOSA, Future Health Professionals is the student led organization for future healthcare professionals. I have chaperoned 7 groups of students to the North Carolina HOSA Leadership Conference and 5 groups of students to the HOSA International Leadership Conference. These conferences allow students the opportunity to lead, learn and apply their skills outside the classroom. I encourage each Health Science student to join HOSA.
My husband, Barry, and I have lived in Wendell for 31 years. We have 3 adult children and are looking forward to the arrival of our granddaughter in March of 2019.
Students will need a small binder, notebook paper, pens, pencils and highlighters for my class. Students who prefer to color code their notes may want to add colored pencils or markers to their list. I also recommend that all students have a flash drive. All class resources will be available on Canvas. Students sign into Canvas via Powerschool.
