I am originally from Fairbanks, Alaska. I received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. I taught 6th grade in Alaska for three years and 5th grade for one year at Benson Middle in Johnston county.This is my third year at East Clayton Elementary. I have been married for 12 years, I have a 4th grader, 1st grader, 3 year old and two step children. I will be your child’s reading, writing and social studies teacher this year. I am very excited to be at East Clayton Elementary and looking forward to a great school year.

Fee for Service Preschool Application
We are pleased to inform you that the preschool classroom at East Clayton Elementary School has limited space available for enrollment in the Fee For Service Program for the 19-20 school year. The Fee For Service Preschool Program is designed to provide a high-quality early childhood experience. To be eligible for this program, children must be four years old on or before August 31st.

YMCA Summer Camp
Camp Explorer is one of two summer day camps run by the Johnston County YMCA serving children in the Clayton area. Camp Explorer is a full-day summer camp that will keep your child active and engaged all day long! Your camper will enjoy activities such as swimming, skill development, awards, weekly themes, crafts and outdoor games. Click on the heading for more information.

Innovative Programs Virtual Family Information Nights Scheduled
Johnston County Public Schools invites students and their families to learn more about our interesting options for our middle and high school students during our Virtual Information Nights on January 28 and February 4, 2021. Participants will be able to visit the virtual spaces for each program and talk with program coordinators and students from 6:00-8:00 pm.

JCPS transitions to Plan B for all students
The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return all Pre-K and EC-Self Contained students to Plan B, four days per week, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. These students will participate in face-to-face instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday serving as a remote learning day. All other students in grades K-12 will remain on Plan C until Monday, Feb. 1.

High School State Assessments Update
On December 8th 2020, the Johnston County School Board of Education voted to return to Plan C (Remote Learning), we would like to provide an update to parents and guardians of options to complete state-mandated End-of-Course (EOC) and Career/Technical Education Post Assessment testing.
