Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tara Roy
I have been an educator for 23 years. I started my teaching career in Johnston County in 1997 and have worked in various roles and districts. I have worked as a classroom teacher, state education consultant and curriculum administrator before coming to Polenta in 2016 as the Literacy Coach and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten! The classroom is really where my heart is! I have had the opportunity to present literacy research and best instructional practices at both state and national conferences. I am very passionate about literacy and believe that the ability to read and write are true super powers that ALL children possess!
I live in Apex with my husband, daughter and our dog, Max.
A few of my favorite things:
My favorite flower is the sunflower, but I love all flowers!
My favorite candy is dark chocolate, but I can have very little sugar, so sweets are a real treat for me!
My favorite drinks are coffee sweetened with honey and water.
My classroom wishlist is crayola markers, sharpies, treasure box items, outdoor recess games (hula hoops, balls, chalk, bubbles, any outdoor play items)
