Mrs. Amy Newton

Greetings! My name is Amy Newton, and I am excited to say that this is my second year at Clayton Middle School and my 15th year as an educator.  I attended college in New York at SUNY Geneseo and earned my undergraduate degree in English and secondary education; my master's degree is in special education, which I completed at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.

In the past, I taught special education for three years in New York, high school English for eight years in Virginia, and middle school inclusion math/language arts for two years here in North Carolina prior to taking time off to raise my twins.  My sweet children will be in the first grade this year.

In my freetime, I love traveling, cooking, embroidering, and sewing. I am really impressed with the staff at CMS whom I've been lucky enough to work with so far; nevertheless, I know the 2019-2020 school year will be a great one...go Eagles!
