Mrs. Amy Newton

Greetings! My name is Amy Newton, and I am new to Clayton Middle School (although I am not new to teaching). I am excited to say that this is my 14th year as an educator!  I attended college in New York at SUNY Geneseo and received my undergraduate degree in English and secondary education; my master's degree is in special education, which I earned at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.

In the past, I taught special education for three years in New York, high school English for eight years in Virginia, and middle school inclusion math/language arts for two years here in North Carolina prior to taking time off to raise my twins. They are starting kindergarten this fall!

In my freetime, I love traveling, cooking, embroidering, and sewing. I am really impressed with the staff I have met at CMS so far; nevertheless, I know the 2018-2019 school year will be a great one...go Eagles!
