Initial Membership Guidelines
Any second semester 7th grade student or 8th grade student who is working on grade level may become a member of the club if the following local requirements are met:
- The student has a 93 cumulative average in all subjects AND has not received a nine weeks grade lower than an 80 in any class
- An overall average of “S” on conduct in academic and enhancement subjects.
- Possession of outstanding qualities of scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship. (Students who have been assigned OSS are automatically disqualified. Students who are assigned 3 or more days of ISS are automatically disqualified.)
- Completion of an activity sheet, which should be returned to the faculty council by a given deadline.
- Majority approval by the faculty council on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship.
- Students who are considered for membership will be notified by a letter of acceptance and will be formally inducted during the spring semester. (Upon the receipt of this letter, a student is an active member with rights and privileges thereof.)
Continual
Members can maintain their membership by meeting the following requirements:
- The student must maintain a 93 cumulative average in all subjects AND have not received a nine weeks grade lower than an 80 in any class
- Maintain an overall average of “S” on conduct in academic and enhancement subjects.
- Possession of outstanding qualities of scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship.
Failure to meet these standards may result in probation and/or termination from the chapter.
