Welcome Spartan Students and Parents to the 2022-2023 School year!!
My name is Kaytlin Hales and I am an Athletic Trainer, a Graduate of Methodist University and also an Alumni of Smithfield-Selma. Before coming to SSS, I worked as a Physician Extender in an Orthopedic Clinic in Raleigh. I worked along with some of the top physicians and surgeons in the greater Raleigh area. I am excited for my fourth year of teaching at SSS and for my students to gain knowledge about the field of Health Science. As I am the school's Athletic Trainer, I am excited about bringing my passion for helping athletes on the field into the classroom. When I am not working in the classroom or on the field, I love spending time with my dog Brandy. I can't wait to start this school year!!
North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.
The Johnston County Board of Education is now accepting applications for the Johnston County Community College Board of Trustee position. The deadline to apply for the vacancy is Friday, February 17, 2023.
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
