Have A Wonderful Summer! My name is Debbie Matthews and I am excited to be your teacher this year. I attended the University of Alaska for my undergraduate degree and majored in Elementary Education. I received my Masters in School Administration from Western Carolina University. I have my certification in K-12 reading as well. This will be my 21st year in the classroom. I have worked in Johnston and Wake County as a teacher and in Pender County as an assistant principal. I started my early teaching years here at East Clayton and I am excited about returning to my roots. I am a native of Johnston County and grew up in Smithfield. I currently live in Clayton with my husband and 2 furry pups. We have two daughters that are currently in college and living in Raleigh.

The Johnston County Education Foundation has changed its grant process from a three cycle a year process, to a once a year process. The grant deadline will now be November 15th each year and Grant Patrol will be held on the first Wednesday of December.
