Mrs. Debbie Matthews

Have A Wonderful Summer! My name is Debbie Matthews and I am excited to be your teacher this year.  I attended the University of Alaska for my undergraduate degree and majored in Elementary Education.  I received my Masters in School Administration from Western Carolina University. I have my certification in K-12 reading as well.  This will be my 21st  year in the classroom.  I have worked in Johnston and Wake County as a teacher and in Pender County as an assistant principal.  I started my early teaching years here at East Clayton and I am excited about returning to my roots.  I am a native of Johnston County and grew up in Smithfield.  I currently live in Clayton with my husband and 2 furry pups. We have two daughters that are currently in college and living in Raleigh.
