Hi, my name is Virginia McGuire. I am excited to be your 6th grade teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. This will be my 7th year to teach ELA and SS. My husband Shawn and I have 2 daughters named Teaghan and Isla. We enjoy living in Clayton and particularly love the outdoors. I am excited to make this the best school year yet!

I graduated from Princeton High School in 2004. I then attended UNCW where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education in 2008. I taught for 5 years in Wilmington before moving to Clayton.

  • Board of Education Special Session set for August 27

    The Johnston County Board of Education will hold a special session on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The closed session meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and be held in the Evander Simpson Building in Smithfield.

  • New deadline in JCEF grant process

    The Johnston County Education Foundation has changed its grant process from a three cycle a year process, to a once a year process. The grant deadline will now be November 15th each year and Grant Patrol will be held on the first Wednesday of December.
