I was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. My mom was a teacher, my dad a principal and I grew up in Elementary schools all over the world - Germany, Sicily, Michigan and Arizona! I earned a liberal arts degree from Kalamazoo College, and went back to school many years later to earn my teaching degree from ECU. I have loved teaching 5th Grade, but am SO excited to be beginning my first year in 3rd Grade and am very excited to be teaching a virtual class! Math and Science have always been my favorite subjects and I wouldn’t rather teach anything else! :)

     I have lived in Johnston County for 22 years and love it here. My husband and I have been married for 25 years and have two children.  My daughter Hayden will be a Freshman this year at Appalachian State (Go ‘Neers!) and my son Baxter is starting Middle School at Cleveland Middle. We love playing games, spending time at the beach, playing Animal Crossing together, sleeping out in our treehouse, and visiting family in Michigan every summer.

     Some of my favorite things are blue hydrangeas, birthday cake, and cookie dough ice cream. I love animals, especially my new puppy Sunni.  Orange is my favorite color and Fall is my favorite season. I love to garden and read. I love chocolate and coffee. I like to visit the beach and the mountains. This summer I learned how to meditate and practiced a lot!
