We are off to a strong start this year despite weather setbacks. Students are *drumroll please* READING FOR FUN. I know, I is crazy to think that this generation can enjoy books for no reason BUT they are amazing readers. That is a big part of our classroom and they are tracking their own reading on their online portfolios. 


We are discussing short stories, plot diagrams, literary terms, narrative writing, and learning standards. We are always having deep conversations about real world topics AND becoming closer as a class. We are working through the new grading system (Standard Based Grading) and learning what it means to be responsible for your own education. 


I have a strong desire to challenge students to step out of their comfort zones, read A LOT, write, and reflect. This year I feel prepared to teach and engage students in an entirely new way! If you need to reach me at anytime, email is the best way ( or I have office hours from 7:15-8 a.m.
