Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Phillippie's Class
My name is Christi Phillippie and I am so excited to start a new school year! This will be my 21st year teaching...and after 10 years teaching third grade, I am thrilled to return to 2nd grade! I love being an East Clayton Explorer and can't wait to see what our little Explorers accomplish this year.
I graduated from Appalachian State University (go Mountaineers) and return to the mountains as often as possible! My husband, Bryan, and I have been married for 21 years and have two children. Luke is a junior at Corinth Holders High School and you can find him behind the drum set in the marching band! Sam is an eighth grader at Archer Lodge Middle School and is on the football team. We also have two fur babies...our old man, Hank, and our 2yr old weenie dog, Ollie.
I am looking forward to building relationships with my new students and their families. Together, we will ensure each child in Room 217 has a fun and successful year!
North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.
The Johnston County Board of Education is now accepting applications for the Johnston County Community College Board of Trustee position. The deadline to apply for the vacancy is Friday, February 17, 2023.
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
