Welcome to Ms. Watson’s class where “We Are Family”. I will begin by introducing myself. I am from Smithfield, N.C. graduated from Smithfield Selma Senior High School. I am a graduate of Essex County College in New Jersey where I obtained my A.S. in Early Childhood Education and Mount Olive University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
My passion is teaching. I believe that every child can learn. We all learn different that’s what make us unique. It is with all the compassion in me to teach our children and give them the knowledge to make them productive citizens. Each student is an individual and as a whole class we are a Family learning from each other this important to me. I am looking forward to a successful 2019-2020 school year.

Attention parents of 4-year-olds: Are you interested in your child attending a free preschool program? The NC PreK program is designed to provide 4-year-old children with positive early learning experiences that support their development and prepare them for Kindergarten.
High school students and middle school students enrolled in high school courses will be given an option on how their grade appears on their transcript. Students should complete the form for their school to make their choice.
JCPS high schools will host “modified” traditional graduation ceremonies between Wednesday, July 29, 2020 - Saturday, August 1, 2020. Schools will communicate about specific graduation dates and ceremony times as we get closer to see what restrictions may limit our attendance participation.
The last day of virtual school takes place on May 29th. We are planning staggered dates/times for curbside pick-up and drop-off of items at the school on June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. We are also planning carpool graduation parades to celebrate our preschool, kindergarten and 5th grade graduates on June 1 and 2. The schedule is as follows. Starting on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 rising 6th graders from Cooper Academy can register for elective classes on the Riverwood Middle School website. The link on the front page of their website will offer elective course descriptions, expectations, and directions on how to complete the google form.
