Christine Mitchell

My name is Christine Mitchell and I am the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Exceptional Children Resource Teacher for the 2018/19 school year.  This is my second year at Riverwood Elementary School and my 19th year of teaching.  My family and I just recently moved to Clayton from Goldsboro, NC.  I am a proud East Carolina University Graduate with a degree in Special Education and a concentration in Learning Disabilities.  My husband Mike and I have two sons.  My oldest son, Austin, is a graduate of NC State with a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Masters Degree in Education.  He is currently a teacher for Wake County Public Schools.  My youngest son, Charlie, is a seventh grade student at Riverwood Middle School.  Teaching is my passion, but in my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling. and spending time with my family.  I look forward to a great year at Riverwood Elementary School!
