Mr. Martin
My name is Garfield Martin Jr. The 2022-2023 school year will be my 6th year as your Professional School Counselor. I am a 20-year Army retiree, husband, and father of three sons. I also have two granddaughters.
As your school counselor, I am one of three members of the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) team. My focus is on Tier 1 intervention support (i.e. class lessons and school events such as Red Ribbon Week, Career and College Exploration Day). If you are looking for resources, I am your man. If you need support with anything from BackPack Buddies to uniform assistance, all you need to do is keep scrolling and you will find a list of resources.
My mission is to help ALL students in academic achievement, career, and social/emotional development.
Lastly, if you have questions concerning Section 504, McKinney Vento, or Homebound services, please reach out to me.
If you ever need assistance or have questions, I can be reached via phone at (919) 553-0256 ext 2361 or email at garfieldmartin@johnston.k12.nc.us
