Mrs. Maria Avila
¡Bienvenidos a Tercer Grado!
I am from Bogota, Colombia. I am the Spanish teacher for the Dual Language Program. This is going to be my 5th year at Polenta Elementary and my 8th year teaching. I am very excited meet my new class for the 2020-2021 school year. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary education with emphasis in Spanish and foreign languages: English and French. I recently graduated with a Master's degree in TESOL at Greensboro College. Back in Colombia, I had the opportunity to work with students from all ages in schools and language centers. I used to teach Science, Math, English, and Phonics. I look forward to a great school year!
