My name is Carolina Betancourt Ruiz. I am from Colombia. I was born in Armenia, Quindio where you can find the best coffee =)
I graduated from the University of Quindio as Modern Languages Bachelor.
My passion in life is to share what I know and to learn from others; that is to say, I love teaching! This is my third year in USA and I am so glad to continue teaching Spanish at Cooper Academy. My passion in life is to share what I know and to learn from others; that is to say, I love teaching people from all ages! In addition, I love traveling around the world.

Targeted Support & Improvement
We are sharing information with our families about the Targeted Support & Improvement State Level guidance for schools who have underperformed on state-wide assessments during the past few years. Of course, last year we did not have End-of-Grade testing in North Carolina due to COVID-19 school closures.

JCPS High School Graduation and Prom details
Johnston County Public Schools has developed a detailed plan to mark senior milestones, including prom and graduation, while adhering to guidance from the Johnston County Public Health Department and the CDC in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Pre-K - 5th Grade to return to Plan A on March 1
The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return Pre-K - 5th grade to Plan A, four days per week, beginning on Monday, March. 1.

JCPS transitions to Plan B for all students
The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return all Pre-K and EC-Self Contained students to Plan B, four days per week, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. These students will participate in face-to-face instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday serving as a remote learning day. All other students in grades K-12 will remain on Plan C until Monday, Feb. 1.

Second Semester Choice Form
Every JCPS parent was to fill ou the Second Semester Choice form to choose either the Virtual Program OR face-to-face instruction for each of their students by Monday, Nov. 30. If you were unable to fill out the form by Nov. 30 please contact your child's school for assistance. The form was to be filled out for ALL students in grades PreK-12.
