Mrs. C. Denise Edmondson-Artis
Greetings Families!
My name is Mrs. C. Denise Edmondson-Artis and I am so excited to be on the second grade team at Cooper Academy! This is my fifth year at Cooper! Go Rockets! I love teaching! I am thrilled to be your teacher, and I am looking forward to a year of dedicated learning, fun, and memorable moments, and adventures. I am ready to learn all about you, but first I'll tell you a little about me.
I was reared in Wilson County just outside the Johnston County line. I am married and I have one son. I have four brothers. I am the only girl! I attended James B. Hunt High School, Wilson NC. The University of Mount Olive is where I attended college and obtained my degree in Education. I have been in the Johnston County School System for twenty-one years.
There is so much that I am looking forward to this year! Here are a few things that second grade has to offer. In math this year, your second graders will continue to explore the logic of numbers. He/she will also start to learn that all the number facts are related in a systematic way and the foundation of multiplication. In reading, students are challenged to become more fluent readers. We will be learning about life cycles, sound, and animals habitat in science, and how to be a part of a community and a leader in social studies. Get ready! Get Ready!
Some of my favorites:
color:purple
meal:meatloaf, cornbread, yams and cabbage
animal:elephant
soft drink:Dr.Pepper
hobby: collect elephants and word search
candy: Reese's cup (orginial)
Sincerely.
Mrs. Artis
