• Clayton High School FFA

At its core, FFA is a leadership organization. Our students have opportunities to participate in leadership development activities throughout the year. These activities include leadership conferences where leadership skills are taught through FFA officers throughout our state, region, and federation, Career Development Events (or CDE’s) which are contests in which students practice the skills they learn in class. These events range from public speaking events to skill events such as livestock or horse judging. The possibilities are endless when it comes to opportunities to explore individual interests.

What are the costs associated with FFA? Yearly dues are $30. Other costs vary by event. Contests are free to compete in for our students. Fun days and leadership conferences may incur a small cost ($10-$15), but we do try to keep our events affordable to include as many members as possible.

Do I need a ride to get to events? Monthly meetings are held during Comet time so as not to disrupt the students’ routines. Fun days, leadership conferences, and contests will require travel, but we do provide a bus for these events. Students need only have a ride to and from school before and after the event.

What are the benefits of FFA? FFA involvement is a wonderful addition to college applications and job resumes. The leadership skills that our students acquire while involved FFA events aid in success in any career path the students may choose.

We welcome other questions! We are very passionate about this program and we strive to ensure that our members learn valuable skills to help them in their future as well as network with others and, of course, have fun!
