Mr. Matt Johnson
My name is Matt Johnson, and I am a social studies teacher at Johnston County Early College Academy. I'm also a lifelong resident of Johnston County. I earned my degree in teaching from Campbell University, and I'm licensed to teach social studies in both middle and high school. This is my 13th year teaching, and I love every moment of working with the students and staff of JCECA.
I'm a total nerd at heart - talk to me about Star Wars, Walt Disney World, or anything dealing with U.S. politics. You will definitely see a "Baby Yoda" painting on my classroom wall, and you might listen to instrumental Disney music while doing classwork some days! My students will also tell you that very few can match my sarcastic wit and dry sense of humor. But they'll also tell you that you can always feel comfortable coming to me to ask any questions or if you just need some support.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!
SEE YOU IN AUGUST!!

Johnston County Public Schools is always striving to provide students and families with exemplary service. In most cases, school bus transportation is essential for many students to access a quality education. In order to meet our daily goal, it is necessary to implement change that enhances and improves our overall operation. As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, JCPS Transportation Services and School Nutrition will be hosting a Summer Information Fair at each high school.
