Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. Social Science, Campbell University (2010) Social Studies Teacher Certification (Grades 6-12) AIG Certified (JCPS)
Mr. Matt Johnson
I am the World History and Civics teacher at Johnston County Early College Academy. That means I primarily work with our freshmen and sophomores. I'm a lifelong resident of Johnston County. I completed my undergrad education at Campbell University and received certification to teach social studies in both middle and high school. This is my 12th year teaching, and I love working with the students of JCECA.
I'm a total nerd at heart - talk to me about Star Wars, Walt Disney World, or anything dealing with U.S. politics. You will definitely see a "Baby Yoda" painting on my classroom wall, and you might listen to instrumental Disney music while doing classwork some days! My students will also tell you that few can match my sarcastic wit and dry sense of humor. But they'll also tell you that you should always feel comfortable coming to me to ask any questions or if you need support.

2nd Block - Planning - ECA Den (Smith 136)
