Box Tops for Education™ is one of the nation’s largest school fundraising loyalty programs and has been helping schools succeed since 1996. When you buy certain products, you may have noticed a little pink “coupon” on the packaging. This is a Box Top! Every Box Top is worth a dime! Schools are awarded checks twice a year for the value of their Box Tops that was submitted. They can use the money exactly where it is needed: new books/magazine subscriptions for media centers, playground equipment, planners/agenda notebooks for students, etc.
Over 90,000 K-8 schools participate nationwide. McGee’s Crossroads Elementary School earned more than $3,800 last year!! Since beginning the program in 2004, MCES has earned $19,011!! All of that money was earned one dime at a time!
So far, America’s schools have earned over $525 million from the Box Tops for Education program. Be on the lookout for the little pink Box Tops---Betty Crocker products, General Mills cereals, Ole El Paso items, ZipLoc products, Green Giant vegetables, Cottonelle toilet paper and Mott’s Applesauce---just to name a few!
Ask grandparents or neighbors to start collecting Box Tops for your child. Every quarter, an incentive party is given to the classroom that has turned in the highest number of Box Tops! Ice cream sundae parties, popcorn and movie parties, SnoCone parties, Cotton Candy parties, Outside Play Parties---these are just a few of the ideas that our Box Top coordinator, Jennifer Miller, has been thinking about!
