PHS Beta Club is a charter of the National Beta Club which was founded in 1934 to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
To be inducted in PHS Beta a student must have a GPA of 3.8. Once admitted the GPA is checked every semester to ensure that you maintain this standard.
CHARACTER
Beta inductees and members are expected to maintain an exemplary discipline record having no in school or out of school suspensions on their record. Our sponsors obtain character references from all members of our staff for new inductees and monitors discipline records of all current members.
LEADERSHIPBeta Club strives to develop the leaders of tomorrow. Our goal is to help our members gain leadership skills by providing opportunities for students to join and lead service teams and club committees.
SERVICEPHS Beta requires applicants to submit 15 hours of community based service prior to induction in our club. Once inducted members are expected to maintain a service log and complete 30 hours per year of community service which must include participation in one club based service event per semester.
Students who are interested should begin recording service hours by printing the log at the link below:
