I have been an educator for over 23 years.  I have lived in Pennsylvania, NJ, NY and Canada prior to moving to North Carolina.  My husband and I have called NC home for the last 24 years and love living in this area.  I have a middle school aged son and my daughter attends High School.   My prior experience includes 20 years of teaching science as well as other subjects to middle school and elementary school students.  I have also served as a curriculum coach prior to beginning my path to administration.  This is my 3rd year serving as an Assistant Principal in the district and I am beyond excited to become a member of the Wise Owl team at WVE.  There is nothing more important to me than the safety and education of the students in our school.  They are the reason I come to work and I count myself lucky to be a part of their lives.  I learn something new everyday and will continue to do so in this position. My hobbies include relaxing in the mountains, reading, photographing insects/nature (especially Bees) and spending as much time as I can with my family.  I am so fortunate to be able to serve each and everyone of you and am grateful for the opportunity.

It is with great pleasure that I join the WiseOwl family! I am a proud wife and mother of four boys...well five if you include my husband! I’ve worked as an educator in Johnston County for fifteen years now. I began my career as a substitute teacher, then teacher assistant-bus driver, teacher, curriculum specialist, and now assistant principal. It is my core belief that we educate students by teaching, and having them apply, skills useful in school, a global society, and in life. I believe when we all (schools, parents, families, businesses and communities) collaborate together in order to support increasing teaching and learning, our students become the biggest benefactors!

I truly look forward to serving and collaborating with this community. If I could ever be of assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
