Welcome to Mr. Garrou's Class Website!!
If you are a student, I am looking forward to teaching you this semester. If you are a parent, I look forward to working with you in order to educate your child.
I am beginning my 13th year of teaching High School, and my seventh at North Johnston High. Before working as a teacher, I was a Correctional Officer, a Fire Fighter, and Project Manager for a telecommunications company. I also worked at Wayne Community College as the Educational Support Technician for four years before moving to teaching, a job which I held at WCC for three years. I am an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and AF Reserves, and saw a lot of operations during Desert Storm and Desert Shield. I have coached Football, Wrestling, Track & Field, Soccer, and Cross Country during my career so far as a high school teacher. I also served as the First Responder for the JV and Varsity Panther Football teams. I am currently a Driver's Education Instructor at North. My hobbies include cooking, reading, photography, kayak fishing, playing the drums, the keyboard, the bass guitar, and the ukelele, martial arts, climbing, vacations to the beach and the mountains, and staying as active as I can. I really enjoy enriching the minds of my students and challenging them as student-athletes.

Trades and Classified Job Fair 2023
Johnston County Public Schools will hold it's annual Trades & Classified Job Fair on Saturday, June 24. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Smithfield-Selma High School, 700 M Durwood Stephenson Pkwy, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
