Lt Col Eric Brewington
I got my start from an Army JROTC unit at West Robeson High School, in Robeson County, North Carolina. Those phenominal instructors ran a disciplined program with passion and gave me my drive to succeed, my desire to make something of myself. They convinced me to pursue my education. I earned a Masters Degree in Business, traveled around the world and never would have had it not been for this wonderful program. I hope to pay these blessings I received forward to the "Trojan Cadets" of South Johnston High School.
I entered the United States Air Force as a distinguished graduate through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1990. I served in multiple leadership positions, with his most recent as the Director of Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM. I've led security forces members, combat civil engineers, services, financial resources, facility management, and contracting professionals. I earned certification as a Air Commando Level II, and was a certified acquisition professional. In my final capacity, I oversaw civil engineering for 25 buildings, including 268,000 square feet of office space at the Kirtland AFB complex, and five geographically separated detachments, and was responsible for the execution of over $525 million in operational test and mission support contracts, quality assurance, small business, and government purchase-card programs, and managed the command-wide $62 million annual budget.
I served as the commander for the 23d Contracting Squadron at Moody AFB, GA, and also as the Chief of Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command Contracting Division, Hurlburt Field, FL. I deployed to Bosnia with the J-3 Joint Special Operations Air Component in 1993, 1994, and 1996. In 2008, I was the Combined Joint Special Operations Air Component Installation and Mission Support Commander at Joint Base Balad, Iraq and at Bagram Air Base Afghanistan. In 2010, I served as the Chief of Contracts Policy for US Central Command Contracting Command at Bagram Air Base and Kabul, Afghanistan. My deployments include Operations Provide Promise in 1993, Deny Flight in 1994, Joint Endeavor in 1996, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom in 2008 and Enduring Freedom/New Dawn in 2010.
I officially retired from the U.S. Air Force on 01 February 2013, after 22 years of service.
I enjoy teaching cadets. I believe in using multiple learning tools to allow cadets the chance to try new ways of applying what they have learned. All I ask is that if a student thinks the military is not for them, this program is NOT about joining the military, but about gaining self-confidence, self-worth, learning how to develop the tools for your own success. If you want to join any branch of the military, we will help make you better prepared for it. But our purpose is to make you better citizens. I ask any student to give this program 2-weeks and TRY IT! If you don't like it, try something else. I believe you will fall in love with our program.
