Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Trudy Farnell

I graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with a BA in History and received my Masters Degree in History Education from East Carolina University. During the span of my teaching career, I have taught at Myers Park High School and East Mecklenburg High School in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg School System and at Smithfield-Selma High School in Johnston County.

At SSS, in addition to teaching World History, I am a member of the AVID site team, and I serve as Adviser to the Smithfield-Selma Student Association (SSSA), which is our student government, and as faculty facilitator for the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy.

My favorite historical figure is the longest reigning Tudor monarch.  My current favorite "go to girl" is THE NOTORIOUS RBG.

THE PAST IS PROLOGUE

thus rendering history the most important subject taught at Smithfield-Selma High School
