Mrs. Megan Chvatal

Prior to coming to SSS to teach French, I was a student teacher at West Johnston High School, and I have taught college French courses at Elon University and UNC-Chapel Hill. I also did a lot of substitute teaching in Johnston County and in Chapel Hill.

I'm originally from northeastern Ohio, and I went to college at Ohio University. (I'm a Bobcat, not a Buckeye!) After graduation, I moved to Chapel Hill to get my Masters degree in French literature at UNC-Chapel Hill, so I'm also a Tarheel. I got my teaching certification through NC State's NC Teach program, so I guess I am part of the Wolfpack too!

I live in Garner with my husband and my five-year-old pitbull, Tilly. I'm a certified yoga instructor, and I currently teach classes at the Garner YMCA. I love cooking, and I've recently been trying my hand at making bread and complicated multi-layer cakes. I also love taking pictures, reading, binge-watching new shows on Netflix, board games, travel, and obviously anything having to do with French or the francophone world. I am currently obsessed with Pinterest and finding cool Youtube videos to show my students.

I have been a Spartan for eight years, and I love my job! I can't wait to share my love of French with you!
