Kelley Hardin
I am a graduate of Barton College in Wilson, NC. I have a BFA with a concentration in Photography. I attended Smithfield-Selma High School. I have been a teacher at Triple S since 2005. I currently teach Photography and IB Visual Arts. There are four levels of Photography offered at SSS. Photography 1 explores the basics of cameras, film, taking pictures, processing film, and working in the darkroom. Photography 2 builds upon what was learned in Photo 1 with more advanced techniques in the darkroom. The option of using digital cameras also begins with this level. Photography 3 and 4 are individualized for each student taking the course. Photo 3 focuses more on learning to discuss photographs on an artistic level, while exploring alternative processes. Photo 4 is focused on completing a portfolio of work and the career aspect of photography. IB Visual Arts has an SL and HL option, with more work required at the HL level. "The Diploma Programme Visual Arts" course enables students to engage in both practical exploration and artistic production, and in an independent contextual, visual and critical investigation" (taken from the IB Visual Arts Diploma Programme Guide).
I am also the Art club advisor.
