Mrs. Katelyn Kim
Hola, I'm Katelyn Kim and I teach Spanish 1 and 2 at Smithfield-Selma High School. Prior to joining the Foreign Language department at SSS in the fall of 2016, I taught Spanish 1-3 in Clarksburg, West Virginia and was a program coordinator for first year students at West Virginia University. I lived in Morgantown, WV for 5 years after moving from my hometown in Pennsylvania. While the North Carolina winters have been a nice change of pace, I really miss the mountains! I also lived in Costa Rica for a semester in college where I learned to speak Spanish. I hope to be able to return sometime soon!
My husband and I live in Wilson, NC with our dog, Riley, and cat, Lola. I love cooking, running, rock climbing, playing guitar, singing, and reading. If I wasn't a teacher, I'd either be an actress or own a bakery...or maybe both!
Parents and guardians of 1st semester students: take a moment and fill out my survey so that we can stay in contact this semester.
