Mr. James Massey
My name is Jimmy Massey and I am the Auotmotive Instructor here at CHHS, This is my 2nd full year teaching here , I transfered from SSS and have been teaching auto shop for 8 years now.
The students will use computers for the shop safety program SP/2 and also for learning through the Today's Class program
The Automotive course has 4 classes as followed:
1. Intro to Automotive Now called Fundamentals of Automotive Service
2. Automotive 1
3. Automotive 2
4. Automotive 3
When the students finish the class they should be able to do complete maintenance on a vehicle.
With a major shortage of auto techs today, this is a great field to be involved in.
Also studentys who finish the couse will be able to take the G1 ASE test and if they pass they will be certified ASE mechanic in General Maintenance for 2 years.
The students also have enroll with Wayne Community College and partciipate in the GM or Dodge program, This is where they go to school and work for a local dealership.
1st Semester Schedule:

4th Block:Auto 1
At this time, all traditional high school graduations are still planned for May 29. Graduation ceremonies for Johnston County Early College Academy and Johnston County Career and Technical Leadership Academy will now take place on May 16th, rather than the original date of May 15th.
The Johnston County Board of Education will hold a budget work session on Tuesday, April 27. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. and be held in the Evander Simpson Building in Smithfield.
