My name is Jimmy Massey, I am the Auotmotive Instructor here at CHHS, This is my 3rd full year teaching here , I transfered from SSS and have been teaching auto shop for 10 years now.
The students will use computers for the shop safety program SP/2 and also for learning from online program Electude
The Automotive course has 4 classes as followed:
1. Intro to Automotive Now called Fundamentals of Automotive Service
2. Automotive 1
3. Automotive 2
4. Automotive 3
When the students finish the class they should be able to do complete maintenance on a vehicle.
With a major shortage of auto techs today, this is a great field to be involved in.
Also studentys who finish the couse will be able to take the G1 ASE test and if they pass they will be certified ASE mechanic in General Maintenance for 2 years.
The students also have enroll with Wayne Community College and partciipate in the GM or Dodge program, This is where they go to school and work for a local dealership.

Johnston County Public Schools is now offering a Substitute Teacher Temporary Incentive Pay Plan for substitutes.
At their August meeting, the Johnston County Board of Education voted 4-3 to make face coverings required indoors in all Johnston County Public Schools campuses and on all buses for students, staff, and guests. This updated mask requirement is effective immediately.
